2022-2024 ZETA Chapter Committees
Dates for Committees and Description of Committee Reports: All committees will meet during the August meeting to set goals for the biennium. These goals will be reported to the membership. Additional meetings may be necessary. A written report for the chapter president and secretary will be prepared for inclusion in state reports and the chapter's history.
ART and PERSONAL ENRICHMENT
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. promote chapter participation by displaying members' arts, crafts, and talent at the Tennessee State convention and local meetings;
b. encourage members to attend and participate in the Creative Arts Retreat each biennium.

BYLAWS and RULES
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. update the Tennessee State DKG Chapter Plan and submit to Tennessee Planning Committee chair by November of each biennium;
b. review Zeta Chapter Rules and make sure that they are in compliance with the Tennessee State Organization Bylaws and Rules and International Constitution Standing Rules;
c. update Zeta Chapter Rules and submit them to the state Bylaws and Rules committee.

COMMUNICATIONS and MARKETING
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. communicate chapter news and the work of the Society with the newspaper, radio, television and professional publications;
b. prepare and distribute Zeta's newsletter;
c. encourage members to submit articles for the Society and other publications;
d. develop and maintain the Zeta Chapter's social presence (Facebook, Twitter, Instragram, and website;
e. contact members prior to each meeting;
f. send notice of the chapter meeting to the Knoxville News Sentinel;
h. submit pictures and news about the chapter's accomplishments to the Tennessee State Organization.

EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE (chairperson is First Vice-Chair)
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. plan all programs and reserve all meeting places for the chapter meetings;
b. invite and coordinate speakers for meetings.

FINANCE
The members shall be appointed by the President. The chair is a past treasurer. The committee shall:
a. prepare the budget and present it to the chapter for approval;
b. make an annual audit of the treasurer's records.

HISTORICAL PRESERVATION AND SCRAPBOOK
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. collect items needed to compile a history of the Zeta chapter each year and place in chronological order in the chapter scrapbook;
b. maintain scrapbook for the Zeta chapter;
c. plan the Founders Day program.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. encourage and support the efforts of chapter members to travel, study, and work in nations throughout the world;
b. encourage contributions to the Schools for Africa and other International projects;

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT (Early Career Educators Grant and Program) (November meeting)
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. make applications for the $250.00 Early Career Educator grants available at the beginning of the school year to women educators who are currently employed and in the first through third year as an educator;
b. collect and screen applications that have been submitted to the leadership development committee by October 1;
c. meet prior to Zeta's October meeting to screen applications and select two finalists. At the October meeting, present the projects for a vote by the membership, omitting the names and schools until a winner has been selected;
d. notify the grant winners and invite them to bring a guest and attend the November Early Career Educator Grant meeting;
e. notify by mail those applicants who are not selected as the Early Career Educator grant winner;
f. encourage members to apply for Delta Kappa Gamma and Tennessee State Organization Leadership Seminars.

LEGISLATIVE
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. encourage states and chapters to provide financial aid to prospective women educators;
b. study and recommend action on professional problems related to the education and professional status of women educators;
c. develop and recommend guidelines for action on professional problems that affect education and women educators;
d. present the above information to the chapter, when requested by the program committee;
e. encourage members to endorse and support legislation in the interest of education and women;
f. encourage representation at the Tennessee State Organization Legislative Symposium.

MEMBERSHIP (April)
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. be responsible for the necrology records and memorial services. Procedure for membership shall be in accordance with the Tennessee State Organization Rules and Bylaws;
b. encourage members to nominate key women educators for membership;
c. contact each prospective candidate and obtain her acceptance before being presented to the chapter as a nominee:
d. conduct voting on prospective members;
e. report the names and addresses of new officers to the Tennessee State President and International Headquarter;
f. be responsible for induction and orientation of new members as well as reorientation of other members;
g. determine candidates for the Order of the Rose and RoseBud Award and complete and submit nomination forms.

MUSIC (Every meeting)
The members shall be appointed by the President. The committee shall:
a. be responsible for the development of music as part of the program at each meeting and presentation thereof;
b. whenever requested by the program chairman, provide a musical program for the chapter

The members shall be appointed by the previous nominations committee. The committee shall:
a. present a slate of officers at the November meeting every biennium;
b. submit a slate of officers to the Communication Chair for inclusion in the January Newsletter;
c. conduct an election of officers at the January meeting;
d. be responsible for the installation of officers. (April)

a. follow the policies as outlined in the Tennessee State Organization Bylaws and Rules regarding scholarships as related to this committee;
b. promote information about, interest in, and support for scholarships at all levels;
c. use various media such as the press, television and radio, to disseminate this information to the public, as well as, present it to the chapter when requested by the program chairman;
d. maintain records of honors received by Zeta Chapter members;
e. coordinate the donation of a book to the recipient's school library;
f. send a letter announcing the book donation to the recipient, the librarian, the principal and the superintendent.

a. Literacy - support the Governor's Early Library Foundation through Imagination Library sign-ups at Zoo Knoxville's Boo at the Zoo;
b. Essay contest - the committee shall promote the Tennessee State Organizations annual essay contest.
